Trivia
- The station is based on Newark Northgate station in Nottinghamshire, England.
- Previously, it was based on Fareham station in Hampshire, England.
- This station and Leighton City serve the most amount of Stepford Connect routes on the network as of V2.3, at 21.
- 25 routes serve this station, making it the 7th largest station on the network by route count.
- This station, along with Rayleigh Bay, Westercoast, and Hampton Hargate, are the only stations served by Stepford Express that are managed by Stepford Connect.
- Some longer-standing members of the community affectionately call the barn outside of Edgemead, towards Leighton City "Mugmead" after former SSG Muggenzifter.
- The station name Edgemead is a compound word of "edge" and "mead" (meaning a meadow), likely referring to its location away from Leighton and how it is located in a more countrysided area. Edgemead was also the terminus of the Stepford Main Line from Version 1.1 to Version 1.3, with the station being at the eastern edge of the map.
- However, due to "mead" also meaning a type of alcohol, the name is sometimes censored in the in-game chat, leading to players calling the station joke names like "Edgemeat" or "Eggmeat".
- This station, along with Leighton Stepford Road, Leighton City, and Leighton West, are 4 consecutive terminating stations with no through stations in between.
- The old Platform 1 used to be rarely used after V1.4 as most players drove beyond Edgemead towards Llyn-by-the-Sea, and it could only be used by
R004 and
R009 which terminate at Edgemead.
- This is one of the two stations where trains from both directions can terminate at the same platform, the other being Leighton City.
- This station is the third station to use the turnaround mid-route functionality, after Airport Terminal 2 and 3.
- At the north of Edgemead, a rusty post for the banner repeaters of signal S383 and S385 can be seen which held the banner repeaters for the signals before Platform 1 and 2.
