Metro Core Section — scr

The Metro Core Section is an underground part of the network used exclusively by Metro services. It diverges into two separate tunnels after City Hospital, running between Stepford Central and Stepford High Street, and joins up the Stepford Main Line before St Helens Bridge; or the Whitefield Branch before Whitefield Lido. It was opened in Version 2.2. This line is roughly 2.6 miles (4.2 kilometres) in length.

All Metro routes, except R028, R029, R047, R131, R134, R140 and R141 use the Metro Core Section.

This is the only part of the network to be fully underground.
This part of the network, along with St Helens Bridge, are the only platforms to feature Thameslink-style CIS Boards, which show the next 6 trains due to arrive on a given platform.
Prior to Version 2.3, this branch had its own signalling desk, Zone J.
Prior to Version 2.3, the walls in the section were not able to be collided with. In the aforementioned update, some walls were fixed, though many walls remain with the issue, contradicting the changelog claiming that these issues were fixed.^[1]
