The British Rail Class 444 Desiro was an electric multiple-unit manufactured by Siemens, formerly used on Stepford Connect. These trains were formed of 5 coaches and cost 2,500 points.
This train was removed as SCR does not plan to implement third rail electrification.[1] However, as provisions for pantograph exist on these trains in real life, some players argue that this train could have been amended instead. This also applies to the Class 458, which was also removed in the same update, and therefore were the first NGv3 trains to be removed from the game.

Trivia
- This was the second train introduced directly as NGv3, after the Class 168. It is thus the only train both introduced and removed as NGv3.
- This was one of only four trains in Stepford Connect where the doors were at the carriage ends, the others being the Class 68's Mark 3 coaches, the Class 156 and the Class 158.
- Additionally, the Class 444, the Class 68 and the Class 156 were the only Stepford Connect trains to have single-leaf doors.
- This train was the third most expensive train on Stepford Connect, costing 2,500 points, just behind the Class 68 and Class 156 at 3,000 points each.
- This train only operated on 21 out of the 32 Stepford Connect routes.
- In addition, this train, alongside the Class 68, could operate the exclusive R026 (Stepford Victoria <> Llyn-by-the-Sea) and R036 (Willowfield <> Llyn-by-the-Sea) routes.
- This was the first train from the Desiro family to be upgraded to NGv3.
